Who we are

We're a small New Zealand business with real people behind the website.

i-glasses is run from Auckland by people with many years of experience in eyewear, prescriptions and online optical retail. We're not trying to make buying glasses more complicated than it needs to be — quite the opposite.

Our aim is to offer good-looking frames, sensible lens choices and straightforward pricing, with help available when you need it.

Why i-glasses?

Buying glasses online traditionally involves a surprising number of decisions: frames, lens materials, coatings, prescription details, pupillary distance and sometimes a fair amount of jargon.

We want to keep those choices understandable, while keeping the cost of a good pair of prescription glasses affordable.

You choose a frame you like, tell us what you need, and we guide you through the lens and prescription options without trying to turn the process into an optical engineering degree.

We believe buying prescription glasses shouldn't cost more than it needs to. By selling online and keeping the process efficient, we can offer good frames and quality prescription lenses at competitive prices.

We also want the price to be clear. Where an upgrade genuinely makes sense — such as thinner lenses for a stronger prescription — we'll explain why. Where it doesn't, we're not interested in adding extras just to make the order more expensive.

We're not new to selling eyewear online

i-glasses comes from the same team behind i-contacts.co.nz , our New Zealand online contact lens business.

That experience has taught us a lot about what matters when buying optical products online: clear information, accurate orders, reliable delivery and being able to get hold of an actual person when something isn't quite right.

We've taken those lessons and applied them to prescription glasses.

Optical terminology can get technical very quickly. We try to explain things in ordinary language and only ask you for information that's actually needed.

Be available when you need help

If you're confused by your prescription, aren't sure which lenses to choose, or have a problem with an order, please contact us.

We'd rather answer a question before you order than try to fix the wrong order afterwards.
