Conditions of Use

TERMS & CONDITIONS

These terms apply when you create an account, place an order, use our home try-on service, or otherwise use the i-glasses website. We've tried to keep them straightforward and readable.

Using i-glasses and placing orders

Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account, placing an order or using this website, you agree to these terms and conditions.

Providing accurate information

You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information when creating an account or placing an order.

It is your responsibility to check your contact details, delivery address, prescription details and other order information before submitting your order.

Order acceptance

Placing an order does not necessarily mean we will be able to manufacture or supply it.

We may contact you for further information, suggest an alternative, or cancel an order where reasonably necessary, including where:

  • Payment cannot be verified
  • Required prescription or order information is missing or unclear
  • An item is unavailable
  • The selected frame, lenses and prescription cannot technically be combined
  • An obvious pricing or website error has occurred
  • We reasonably suspect fraudulent or improper use of the website

If we cancel an order, we will let you know and refund any amount already paid for the cancelled items.

Changing or cancelling an order

Prescription glasses are made specifically for you, so please contact us as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel an order.

Once manufacture has started we may not be able to alter the order before it is completed. This does not affect our 14-day money-back guarantee or any rights you have under New Zealand consumer law.

Prescription glasses

Your prescription

Prescription glasses should be ordered using a current spectacle prescription that has been prescribed for you by an appropriately qualified eye-care professional.

You are responsible for entering your prescription accurately, including sphere, cylinder, axis, addition and pupillary distance (PD) where these are required for the lenses you order.

Need help with your prescription?

If you're unsure how to interpret your prescription, please contact us before completing your order.

Where the website allows it, you may also provide us with a copy of your prescription so we can help check the information entered.

Technical limitations

Not every prescription can be made in every frame or lens design. Occasionally a particular combination of frame, prescription, lens material or lens option may not be technically suitable.

If this happens we will contact you to discuss suitable alternatives. You may choose an alternative or cancel the affected item for a refund.

Eye examinations

Buying replacement glasses online is not a substitute for regular eye examinations.

We recommend continuing to have your eyes examined at intervals recommended by your optometrist or other eye-care professional. Regular examinations can detect changes in vision and eye health that may not otherwise be obvious.

Frame fitting and adjustments

Frames may occasionally need minor adjustment after delivery, such as adjusting the temples, nose pads or frame alignment.

Unless specifically arranged with us, our online service does not include an in-person fitting or adjustment appointment.

Prices and payments

Prices

Prices displayed on the i-glasses website are in New Zealand dollars and include GST where applicable.

Prices, promotions and availability may change from time to time. The price applicable to your order is the price displayed when the order is submitted, subject to correction of obvious errors.

Pricing or website errors

We take reasonable care to display accurate information and prices, but typographical, technical or system errors can occur.

If an obvious error affects your order, we may contact you before processing it or cancel the affected item. If you have already paid for an item that we cancel, we will refund the amount paid.

Payment

Payment must be completed using one of the payment methods offered during checkout.

Card payments are processed securely through our payment service provider. Further information about how we handle your information is available in our Privacy Notice.

Overseas orders

Where international delivery is available, orders are charged in New Zealand dollars.

Your bank or card provider may charge currency conversion or international transaction fees. You may also be responsible for taxes, duties, customs charges or other fees imposed in the destination country.

Shipping, returns and refunds

Shipping and delivery

Prescription glasses need to be manufactured before they can be dispatched, so delivery times vary depending on the frame, prescription and lenses selected.

If an item becomes unavailable or an order is significantly delayed, we will contact you.

Current delivery information and charges are available on our Shipping & Returns page.

Our 14-day money-back guarantee

i-glasses offers a 14-day money-back guarantee which gives you an opportunity to try your new glasses after they arrive.

If you're not happy with your glasses for any reason, contact us within 14 days of receiving them.

Full conditions, including return postage and refund information, are explained in our 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee.

Faulty, incorrect or damaged goods

If an item is faulty, damaged, does not match your order, or we have made an error, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible so we can investigate and put it right.

Faulty or incorrectly supplied goods are dealt with separately from our voluntary 14-day change-of-mind guarantee.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights or remedies you may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act, Fair Trading Act, or other applicable New Zealand law.

10-day home frame try-on

How the home trial works

Where our home try-on service is available, you can select up to three eligible frames and have them sent to you to try at home.

The frames remain the property of i-glasses while they are on trial and must be returned within the trial period using the return instructions and packaging supplied.

Trial fees and delivery

The current trial fee, delivery charge and any applicable credit or voucher are shown on the home try-on product page when you order.

Returning trial frames

Trial frames must be returned in substantially the same condition in which you received them, allowing for normal handling while trying them on.

If frames are not returned, are lost, or are materially damaged while in your possession, we may ask you to pay the retail value of the affected frames.

If you're going to be late returning the frames, please contact us. We'd much rather know what's happening than send the hounds.

Something doesn't look right?

Contact us. Most order problems are much easier to solve by talking to us than by studying the terms and conditions with a magnifying glass.
